In order to fulfill our mission of promotion and strengthening the tourism industry in the State of Nebraska, NETA weighs in on legislation with that goal in mind.

Legislative Committee Procedures

1. Member completes NETA Legislative Committee Submission Form
2. NETA Executive Board approves submission (Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 2)**
3. Pointed member of the legislative committee sends bill to NETA lobbyist (and staff)
4. NETA Executive Director sends it out to membership prior to the meeting on Monday
5. NETA membership discusses the bill

If a hearing comes up quickly during the week prior to the call on Monday:
1. Bill goes out to NETA membership via email
2. Emergency call (via Zoom) is made within 24 hours (depending on how much time there is)

**In the event an item needs to be decided upon quickly, a majority vote of Executive Board will suffice.
